One night in Sao Pablo?
Hi, i (27) have to fly from Johannesburg to costa rica throught sao pablo, what can i do in one night in sao pablo, i arrive at 6pm and my next flight is in the other day early in the morming, my hotel is pretty near from the airport but i dont wanna go to far way from it. Any suggestion
Well, if you don’t want to go too far away from the airport, I’m affraid I’m the bearer of bad news (please don’t kill the messenger). The international airport is not located in S. Paulo itself, but in a neighboring city called Guarulhos. S. Paulo is some 50 km away from the airport. If your short stop in S. Paulo is on a weekday, from 6 to 9 night PM the highway from the airport to the city (and the city streets too) will be quite jammed. S. Paulo is famous for its horrible traffic. But if you’re willing to spend some money and take some nice night picture of the big city, one idea is to take a taxi to Edificio Italia, the highest building in town. There’e a terrace with restaurant/bar from where you’ll get a good view of the city. Sorry, but that’s all that comes to my mind. A round trip from a hotel around the airport to the Terraço Itália (http://www.terracoitalia.com.br/usa/index.htm), considering that you stay there one hour, will take you some 3, maybe 4 hours. And that’s pretty much all you have, isn’t it? I would do it. After all, even if it’s a short stop, you shouldn’t stay all the time in a boring hotel airport. Take a chance to look around. Have fun.
