costa rica guanacaste weather

how is the weather in june in guanacaste, costa rica? i don’t mind rain, but daily for hours is not appealing?
i’m considering the area for my honeymoon, but i would still like to make use of the pool & beaches – please let me know if that’s likely during the rainy season. i’m having a hard time understanding how rainy is rainy?
I spent 2 weeks in CR this June. One week in Manual Antonio (on the Pacific Coast) and one week in San Jose (inland).
Every morning was beautiful. We would get up and play at various activities until about 3pm. We stayed on EST so the time difference definitely played in our favor. We’d spend the late afternoon and evening at our hotel doing dinner, meeting people, swimming in the pool etc. And in the early evening we could watch the rains come at us off the ocean and we’d sit on the balcony and enjoy it. It’s tropical rain, so it isn’t the same as it is in Chicago or New York. Twice it rained on us while we were out doing other things and it lasted maybe 10 minutes.
Once we hit San Jose I kind of missed the rain. Eventually I figured out it was still raining, I just could see or hear it anymore (it was really a weak excuse for rain – maybe sprinkling is a better term.)
Costa Rica isn’t that large, so I can’t imagine the difference between Guanacaste and other places in CR are hugely different.
I’ve been to CR multiple times during rainy season and I’ve never disliked it. However, other posters on here have often complained about the amount of rain. I don’t know if I have just been very lucky, or if I just don’t mind it that much. As long as I’m not trapped inside all day, I really don’t mind it. I’m not going to melt if I get caught in a little shower. I’ve never found it to mess up my trip, prevent me from doing what I want or made me uncomfortable.
So keep in mind that things are subjective. “Chilly” in Florida is when it drops below 70. “Warm” in Anchorage is when it rises above 50. A lot of it is expectation and such.
