costa rica homeschooling

What are the homeschooling laws in costa rica?

Does anyone know of a website that I can find info on homeschooling in Costa Rica?

I don’t know about the home schooling regs in Costa Rica, but suspect there are none. But, anyway…if you are not a Costa Rica citizen and the child is not a Costa Rica citizen, it does not matter. In other words, if you are a foreigner with a child spending time in Costa Rica, the govt there will not care what you do . If the child is not a Costa Rica citizen, they don’t care if he goes to school or not..it is strictly your business. I live in Mexico and my first year here my 11 yr old grandson came with me. I did not believe he would pick up Spanish fast enough to be able to get anything out of going to public school here, so I brought my home schooling curriculum with me to use…and home schooled hm his whole 6th grade. I kept records and when he went home he re-entered school there with no problem. So , if you are in a similar situation, you could do that. Mexico has no home school provisions for Mexican kids…it is not recognized at all…so Mexican kids need to go to a public, or approved private school…no credit would be given for home schooling. Bet costa rica is the same.
