costa rica honeymoons

Vegetarian food in costa rica?
I’m going on my honeymoon to costa rica, and my fiancee is a vegetarian. Is there enough vegetarian cuisine there that she will not have to eat side salads for a week and a half? Do they fry things in lard, such as beans? She eats eggs and dairy, just no meat products. Any recomendations for restauraunts?
I’m sure she will find lots of things to eat, since there are lots of different vegetables and fruit in Costa Rica. One of the most popular dishes, “gallo pinto”, is made of beans and rice.
They do fry things, but usually they use vegetable oil or something similar. You can always ask what kind of oil or “manteca” (like a solid kind of oil) they use. Ask if it’s “vegetal”. If not, ask them to use “Numar” (the most popular brand of margarine).
Since I don’t know where in Costa Rica you’re going, I cannot recommend any specific restaurants.
But I would say, don’t worry and enjoy your honeymoon!
