Costa Rica in December
Maui or costa rica last of December thru January?
Hi. My boyfriend and I are looking to take a 1.5 week trip to either location. Although Hawaii is more expensive, we went to Oahu this past May and had a blast. I absolutely love Hawaii now! He has been to Costa Rica, I have not. He went about 10 years ago (we are in mid-20′s). He says he wants to move there, his fav. place, etc. I want to go but for some reason Maui is appealing to me more – except for the dang prices! Is Costa Rica really as beautiful as everything I have been hearing? What is its comparison to Hawaii? We are renting a car either way. Thank you.
I’ve been to both as well, and just got back from Maui yesterday. I have to say I’d go to Maui. Maui is definitely cleaner, less humid, and every bit exotic and luxurious, but you don’t have to worry about bad water, currency exchange, and any other unfavorable things that can happen in Costa Rica. Don’t get me wrong, Costa Rica is beautiful, but I felt a little more relaxed knowing I was in the US. Check out the Maui Oceanfront Hotel. Its a Best Western, and we got a $99/nite rate. It was 100 steps from the ocean and close to tons of shopping and restaurants. Aloha and happy vacationing!!
