costa rica languages
I live in Fl; I will be traveling to costa rica in March. Any advice on both traveling and airfares?

I will be staying with my sister so I don’t have to pay for food or hotel or a rental car.
I do not speak the language nor have I ever been out of the country
I know that I have to get my visa first.
I had someone tell me that I should fly to Mexico and than take a Charter plane to Costa Rica.
Any advice would be well appreciated as this is so new to me.
Also if I can get cheap airfare than I’ll be able to take my two kids with me.

First off you do not need a visa in order to go to Costa Rica as a USA citizen. You do need a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the time you step foot in to Costa Rica. As far as getting to Costa Rica there are many direct flights via Miami to San Jose Costa Rica. TACA Airlines http://www.taca.com has good fares but there are many of the major airlines who fly there like: Delta, American, Continental, US Airways, etc…. So in short you do not need to fly via Mexico.
