costa rica vacation spots?
My girlfriends and I are trying to plan a trip to costa rica sometime in the summer. What are some good vacation spots? I know there’s a variety of different types of places to go in Costa Rica but we’re all a group of college aged girls and we want something with beautiful beaches and activities to do. If anyone has stayed at certain hotels please let me know what your reviews were on them and anything you’d recommend to help me plan a trip there! Thank you!
I personally enjoy living on the central pacific coastline, Jaco to be specific. It really depends what you girls have in mind but Jaco/Manuel Antonio/Dominical have a bit of it all. Jaco is more of a party town, Manuel Antonio is known for its national park with the flora and fauna being a huge attraction and Dominical is a much less crowded area and very relaxing.
The northern pacific Guanacaste has some of the most beautiful beaches. If you plan on doing the city life, then Heredia or the capital San Jose are the most popular locations with all type of nightlife. Monteverde is famous for the rain forest and protected areas and San Carlos is home to the Arenal Volcano which has spectacular lava shows, weather permitting of course.
I personally recommend to try to book places or at least have a good idea of what you want before coming down and winging it. You’ll find all types of hotels, B&B’s and condos all over the country, to give you an example, Jaco has a beachfront Best Western for $99 and other local hotels as low as $50 a night or you can book a 2 bedroom condo which can sleep 4 people for $99 at Club del Sol. Once you have a budget be sure to do a little research, I’m sure you’ll find nice places that will fit your price range.
