Tangkuban Perahu is a dormant, bowl-shaped volcano situated half way through to Bandung Hills, Indonesia. Traveling time takes about 4 hours including traffic from the capital city, Jakarta. Once you leave the city and enter the suburbs, the natural scenic beauty and the true colors of nature will take your breath away.

During your journey to the volcano, you will not only inhale the fresh air, but also enjoy the opportunity to appreciate how a real Indonesian spends his life. No sign of crowded concrete surfaces, black gas clouds emitted from the horde of vehicles that usually take all the breathing space in the city. After crossing the suburbs, you will traverse a jungle path. The meandering road ride through the trees will give you that autumn feel which will be a huge relief from the usual tropical, humid climate. As you navigate through the jungle, you will come across Sari Ater, which is the Hot Sulfur Spring influenced largely by the heat emanated from the volcanic ash. This is when you know, that you are nearing the beautiful Tangkuban Perahu.

As you climb the volcanic hill, the pleasant climate will turn bone-tingling cold. And when you are finally there, get ready for the sight of your life. The volcano is V-Shaped and blinded by the clouds during the monsoon season, which restricts our visibility and experience of the vast beauty. At the maximum, you can stand near the rim of the volcano and practically catch the clouds in your hands. When clouds drift away, the inner volcanic ring is thickened with ash and lava. And even under this chillness, the dormant volcano exhales deeply through its windpipes located in the very middle of its entire body. Tangkuban Perahu is a must-see, all-time favorite tourist spot of Indonesia.
